Norway's Gift to Sweden

Frida Lyngstad was born on November 15th, 1945 in wartime Norway to a German soldier and Norwegian teenager. She was raised by her grandmother, scince her parents where not around. Her mother died when she was a year, and Frida didn't meet her father until she was 32, thinking until than that her father had died at sea in a wreck from his ship that was traveling back to Germany. So, due to this, Frida was raised by her grandmother in Sweden. Sweden was much safer than Norway at the time, scince children where being taken away at there at the time. Frida started singing at young age, she sang at the red cross when she was 11, and before that she sang various folk songs with her grandmother, During the 1960s, she drew much interest in jazz music, and she was in a band at 13. During the 60s, she had been in two bands, appeared on various telivision shows, sang in various contest, and recorded many songs. But it was in the 70s when she became more noticed, and she had her first solo album in 1971 of March, produced by her fiance' Benny Andersson, the other half of ABBA who was a keyboardist in the rock band, The Hep Stars. ABBA would become the fourth best selling band, they sell about 365 million records in total. ABBA consisted of two couples, ex-folk singers Agnetha Faltskog and Bjorn Ulvause (both married at the time) and Frida and Benny. Frida was known to be the most enthusiastic one of the group; meaning she was very energetic. She had amazing charisma on stage, and was the only member who truly loved touring and meeting the fans one on one. Usualy, she was overshadowed by ABBA's blonde pinup girl Agnetha, but that did not mean that Frida wasn't beautiful. She could have been the perfect James Bond girl, and was very model like, for she was tall and lean. She also had beautiful changing blue eyes, brown hair, high cheek bones, and that sculptural nose, and she did not have to wear pounds of make up to look beautiful. She was sexy, mysterious, and classy, having a certainly unique fashion sense with her ever changing hairstyles, and glamorous stage costumes and overall fashion (she could have been like a female David Bowie in that case). Her voice was amazing, it was a sultry, rich mezzo soprano voice that could sing any way, and that would be the voice you herd in half of the ABBA hits. Her personality was great. She could be hot temperd, but she was very caring and compasionate towards others, and she was also very modest, and had the most amazing sense of humour and wittiness, even though she could be quite at times. Frida worked with the best people in the music industry, coloborating with Phil Colins in 1982 with her world wide hit album, "Something's Going On", a progressive rock one. She also worked with Jon Lord of Deep Purple, and many others. She had so many things happen to her, and I'm amazed on how strong she is. Enjoy the next pictures.
